How we pick companies

Northern Utah Best is an independent guide. This page explains exactly how listings are chosen.

What we check

• Real and local. The company has a public presence (its own website, a directory or review-site profile) showing a business address or base city in the county.
• Active. Signs of recent activity such as a working website or reviews.
• No template or lead-gen sites. We leave out generic "near me" pages that don't name a real business.

Ratings

We show a rating only when we saw it ourselves on a named public site (for example Angi, Houzz, Birdeye, BBB, ChamberofCommerce.com or PlumberAtlas). Each rating shows the source and the date we saw it (Nov 3, 2026). When a figure comes from the company's own website, we label it "Stated". We never write or invent reviews, quotes or ratings.

Order

Companies are listed alphabetically. Being listed means a company met our criteria. It is not a ranking or an endorsement.

Counties

We publish a county page once we can verify at least 5 local companies. Pages not yet published are marked "coming soon".

Money

No company has paid to appear on this site. If we ever add sponsored or featured placements, they will be clearly labeled and kept separate from these lists.

Corrections

Something wrong or out of date? Use the update form and we'll review it.

Always check a contractor's license on the Utah DOPL license lookup and get written quotes before hiring.
